BOTR 2023: Best Modeling Rig

Post by greatmutah »

Post your Snax, Helices or anything else that’s a modeler. Either by itself or with a power amp (tube included) into a cab once the contest starts.

Here's my entry:
Image
Guitar:
Bumblebee Strat---13 pin cable to board

Pedalboard:
GR55 for trumpets, HX Stomp for modeling/fx/IR player/routing/amp channel switching on the VII. Various boosts in front of amp. Today it's a Grid Slammer but I am thinking by Saturday's gig I might be doing the borrowed Bion boost? I can run this board in 4cm with the VII, the Badlander or straight into studio monitors or a wedge (though I would prefer not).

Amps: VII or BL. Currently going with the VII but both are

Cabs:
2 x 112 cabs loaded with Celestion F12 speakers allows me to run full modeling chain, traditional amps (with IRs in the signal chain) and guitar synth through the same set of speakers. Plus I love the the dual 112 mini stack vibe

I've got other stuff modeling wise (duh!) but this does what I need for gigging \m/

JT Wins this one by default. Congrats man. Even if I put in my Helix rig (which is on the block so I didn't) you'd wipe the floor with it.

These Boogies and my modelers (the whole damn pile) work great together. The F12 speakers are great with IRs. The trick for me for both amps is to use them as a single channel amp and boost with dirt pedals. The VII as well. It's super deep and the trick for my mind is to not let it be deeper than that single channel POV.

Amp models into the FX return is something special as well
