I miss my 4-holer. I should have never sold it but it was ridiculously loud ('93 1959SLP). Tone heaven with a Les Paul and a SD-1 though.
Damn that's a killer rig!!! Didn't the Hot Plate help?

It was fine at -4db but started to sound a little harsh at -8th and was unusable above that. I bought the MosValve 1160 I have in my rack back when I had the Plexi. I used the HP set to load and ran the HP's line out through a DE7 delay then into my MosValve. Pre PowerStation days.
Then in 2008 I bought another amp I should have kept.
I bought a 425A cab for it crazy cheap from guitar center when they were stupidly blowing them out. I sold that with the 2266 head. Both were casualties of an expensive divorce.
I owned the 1987x and the 1959SLP at the same time and super regret selling the 1987x. It was soooo much louder, and it drowned out my really loud drummer. It was the only amp he ever said was too loud lol.
I also much preferred the tone and feel of the 50 watter, but there were a lot of variables so who knows what was driving it.
