Another quick Synergy rack clip
I discover something cool by accident the other day: If you connect the "To Amp In" and "From Amp Send" jacks with a patch cable, when you bypass the Synergy you get a very clean, straight into the power amp tone but you can still use your effects with it. So that gives me a "5th Channel" for cleans and I can use all 4 actual channels from gain. Really cool. So the first part of the video is that bypass channel trick, then BE then IICP.

I just got it. I like it so far. It sounds great, it's really loud and weights only 8lbs.

Dude......that clip sounds great! Seriously has me thinking about taking the plunge into the Synergy world. On a side note (but related)....I use a G Major 2 for ambient effects with my Marshall and FWIW I think it brings the goods in spades! Still one of the best units out there!

Almost sounded like you were gonna go into "Princess of the Dawn" there on the crunch sound. Everything is sounding good there.

hahaha that's true. I am confident that the Synergy preamp is a keeper, but the power amp still needs to be tested in a live/practice scenario. I have only used it at home so far. Next practice is Sunday so that will be the decider.
But I still can use a tube power section when I want to, by simply plugging into the fx returns of my tube amps. So I am not losing that option. But I wanted the rack to also be self-sufficient, in case I don't feel like carrying a head. The lightweight SS power amp was a good option for that. But if it sounds good enough during practice it can become just a permanent solution and I can leave my heads at home anytime I use the rack. We'll see.

I’m going to wait for your judgement I’m super happy with the 2:fifty power amp. But if I can get an 8lb 1u power amp I’m interested.

I love the Mesa 2:50 myself.
But the thing about racks is that both power amps can be an option. You can have a 4u rack with the SS power amp and put the 2:50 in a dedicated 2U rack. Then on gig days you stack both racks on top of your cab and you have a full blown tube power section. Yeah it's a bit more to carry but how many gigs do we have in any given month? It's not a lot.
Then for a "daily driver" i.e. band practices, jamming, you can leave the heavy power amp at home and just use the SS power section so you don't have to deal with the weight of power tubes on anything but gig days. That also extends your power tubes lives since you will be using them less often.

That intro tone made me think you were about to launch in to She Sells Sanctuary
Sounds excellent man. The IIC is a great lead tone that works well with your style.

Didn't want to make another thread, but I saw on FB today that synergy have struck up a deal with Peavey and are offering up a 6505+ module now.

The EQ controls in the 6505 module are really good too which makes it a super useful module.
It's got better EQ control than my 6505+.

Sounds good. Thats pretty cool about the 5th channel trick. I don't play my synergy stuff enough but had to order that 6505, hope it sounds good.

Re: Another quick Synergy rack clip
The SLO module has been my favorite so far. I also have the Vai, BE, and Deliverance at the moment.
Just watched some vids of the 6505 and I am buying one possibly today. Pete Thorn did a quick comparison between the SLO and 6505 and they are very very close. The 6505 seemed to have just a touch more warmth to it.
