credit reports?

Post by Lloyd Blankfein »

I'm looking for a place to get my "annual free credit report" but I don't know whats bullshit and what isn't. And who wants to fill out a bunch of personal information for a site they don' know? Not me.

You guys ever done this? What did you use, how'd it go? When I take those online credit tests for a reference, I score pretty high, but I'd just like to know what the solid number is.

I've always used this site https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp and have never had problems.

That is the same site I used for 1st time last year. It was easy to use and I had no issues either.

Yup, that'd be the one.

Also, my 2 cent, short rant: Credit reports are a complete scam. Shit can show up on there you have nothing to do with but it completely falls on you to clean up the mess and oh, outside of your once a year free report the only way you can find out about your secret credit is to apply for a loan and BOOM shit shows up or to pay the companies who monitor this stuff to tell you about it. Nice setup guys. Works good for ya.

Well, I mean I literally have no payments on anything besides my School Loan and Ring. Both of which are way ahead of schedule and been paid on time every time.

Other than that, nothing. So there's really not much that can hide- or a least I don't think there is.

CreditKarma.com will give you the score for free, and not just once a year.

I went to that first link, and it pretty much told me what I already knew. Goodstanding accounts, no late payments. But no fucking number score.

You won't get your FICO score. Banks and other lenders pay Fair Issac to pull your score, which is figured out using their proprietary algorithm and none if this I'd available to the general public. You do not get a free SCORE once a year.

Welcome to America, where the economy lives and dies by credit, but consumers and individuals have almost no access to any of their credit information.

Now, you can get a free copy of your REPORT once a year from any major credit reporting agency.

If you really need to know your score, you can go to Credit Karma and get a FAKO score. It's similar to a FICO score but its not exactly the same. It uses the same info off your credit reports, but with a slightly different algorithm. Most people say its pretty damn close though.

I'm going in for a loan right now and was just wondering what my credit actually is. Besides knowing that I've never had a late payments and already have a couple lines going, I figure it has to be good.

Can I ask my loan officer, "Hey, bish, what was my number brah? :cop: ?"

I'll try credit karma and see what's going on.

I do agree though, credit is everything these days and w can't even get access to it without trying for a loan or paying for it. Seems like if it's my credit, I should be a le to check it 3-4x a day if I want. It should be part of my banking statement I get monthly. Here's your transactions, how many monies you have and oh, by the way, your current credit score.

I get credit card companies looking up my credit all the time to send me shit in the mail, but I can't?
