I am the worst golfer in the world. I once hit a tee shot that ended up 50-75 yards behind me.

Been playing about 2.5 years - never had any interest until my boss guilted me into playing an outing. Averaged over 100 rounds the first 2 years - completely OCD'd out on the game. Total golf club ho. Bought & sold so many clubs, its unbelievable. Self taught - read everything I could on the game - I'm a stack & tilt swing guy. Currently playing Mizuno JPX-825's. Love long irons & fairway woods, hate hybrids with a passion (I've owned close to 10 of them). Most addicting activity I've ever been involved with ... I work with an office full of enablers, so that helps.

Nice HT. I feel you...it can be so unbelievably addicting. I'm down in Ft. Myers this week and planning on golfing tomorrow. It'll be interesting since I'll have to use a completely different set of clubs.

I played golf once. I absolutely sucked and left with no interest in trying to get better.

I did discover I could hit the ball much farther with an iron than with a driver because I couldn't figure out how to get the ball into the air with the driver. I also found it took me less strokes to shoot around the lake than try and hit over it. (And by lake I mean large pond....)

Not knocking the sport, just sharing my one and only golf story.

I know lots of people love it, its just not for me, which is good I have enough expensive (for me) hobbies.
Main Guitars: Gibson SG Classic, Agile AL3100, Fender Blacktop Telecaster
Amps: ACC150 (x2), Peavey VTM120, JCM600, Peavey Bravo, Yamaha THR5
Cabs: Mesa Halfback 2x12, Peavey 1810, Randall RS125CX

Went golfing in Ft. Myers today. Got my ass kicked. Hard. Real hard. In my defense, I was using borrowed golf clubs which were too long for me, and wearing Sperry's.

Man, I love golf. I started playing in HS, but couldnt afford to play until I started working. Been at it pretty consistently for the last three years, and living in San Diego I am blessed to be able to play year-round. Now I get out at least twice a week, usually more. Handicap is officially at 16, but I dont really have any desire to see it drop more than that - it just seems so stressful on my buddies who have low handicaps - its like one blow up hole and their day is ruined! I just love being outside, shaping shots, and hitting it as far as possible. I even started getting the wife involved so we can play while we are on vacations!

My golf bag is kinda like my rig - lots of different manufacturers. TaylorMade driver and fairways, Callaway irons, Cleveland wedges and putter, Nike 20XI balls.

Golf is a great sport to play with your wife/gf ... I play at least once a week with my wife & she's as avid about it as I am. Golf after work is usually our friday night date night. there's something intangible about golf - it's as addictive as crack when you start seeing some success on the course. I play to a 17 hcp - would eventually like to get it down to single digits by the time I retire in 10 years ... I rock Mizuno irons, Nike driver, TM 2011 Rescue & Cleveland putter.

Went out and hit a few balls at the range last weekend, first time I'd picked up my clubs in almost 2 years. Still have an OK swing, but it's inconsistent as hell - I was pulling 1/3, pushing 1/3 and duffing a few then I'd hit a couple straight.

I don't even wanna know what my short game will be like heh. The only saving grace is that the people I'll probably go out with this summer are WAY worse than me haha.

I suspect most clubs are too long for you :idk: :o Don't swing so hard and don't drink. I prefer sports where I can wind myself up, get pumped, and get the adrenaline flowing. Golf's the opposite. Maybe if I did some yoga and meditation early in the morning before playing...
