Girl Scout Cookies

Post by linthat22 »

Has anyone purchased Girl Scout cookies recently?

We recently purchased some from a friend of our daughter (begrudgingly) and all the damned cookies are old and stale. Friggin' white bloom on all the chocolate.

I would've preferred not buying any compared to the grossness that we endured and threw away. 4 boxes bought and thrown away. Blech!

Yeah, we got thin mints, those gross coconut ones, the peanut butter ones, and some weird brownie one. I think like Billy said, we must've received some bad batches. The expiration date on them say 2022, so these had to have been sitting around for awhile.

We got several boxes of Samoas, like we do every year, and they're fantastic. But now they're called Caramel Delights. Have to wonder if Samoans were actually offended they had a cookie named after them, or if it was white girlscout guilt.

Those probably overheated in the car . Those kids work hard , not their fault but the company may offer you replacements if you ask .

Frozen thin mints are best thin mints.

This is the first year in a long time that I haven't bought any cookies. No one is selling outside of stores, I'm sure it's because of covid.

Last year I was jonesing so much that I tried out some of the Keebler ones, their Grass Hopper and Coconut Dream are similar but not quite the same. One of the big differences is that Girl Scouts use dark chocolate while the keebler are milk chocolate.

When I don't have Girl Scout cookies (which is most of the time) I stick to Pepperidge Farm Nantuckets made with dark chocolate and Voortman waffers, usually Key Lime or Lemon.

But, yeah man! Those Girl Scouts need to get themselves back to work!!!!!
