I've learned over the years to just absorb shit like that. I spend too much time on the road on a bicycle to let assholes get to me. If I did I'd probably end up in jail for pulling someone out of their window and beating them to death with a frame pump. So many honks and screams of "get off the road, $homophobic_name" that I just brush off pretty much any comment unless I legitimately fucked up, which happens rarely on the road. The only ones that really get to me anymore are the ones that toss shit at me. That red slushie in the back still gets to me and that happened like eight years ago. Fuckwads.

what I love is, after getting yelled at and honked at, etc.on the road, I get tired of it and sometimes, I take to the sidewalk. Then I get yelled at and chased by the assholes on the sidewalk.

I'm thinking of buying a batmobile, circa Dark Knight era.

What I hate that happens here ALL the time is nobody looks up/around or makes eye contact and keeps their head down and eyes ahead and rolls through 4-ways with no regard for anyone else, as if when they can't see YOU, you're supposed to know and go "Oh okay, cool!" I always honk the shit out of those people bc that's just retarded on their part. Usually it's people "jogging" or biking and think they're exempt from basic rules of transportation.

Oh man, bikers are the WORST around here. On my way home from pretty much anywhere, there's this intersection I hafta go through where the cross-street has stop signs, but the street i'm on doesn't. This is because you seriously can't see other vehicles / people on that street until you're like 12 feet from the intersection. No matter which direction you're coming from. There's also a bit of a downslope before the stop sign on one side.

Bikers blow through that shit all the time because they don't wanna loose momentum. Um, let's see how much forward momentum you lose when you get knocked off your bike by some soccer mom's SUV. A bike is a vehicle in a lane of traffic. As such, its operator is subject to the same rules that any other vehicle operator must follow. Stop signs, right-of-way, etc. We even have stop signs on our designated paved bike paths because of how twisty and busy the roads are around here... no one follows those either.

I have a bit of a smug attitude about always following the rules and getting a lil pissed when others don't, but I still always look. I bike, drive and jog very defensively. I'd rather be wrong and unharmed than right with a broken arm.

To the OP - I think this was the lesson the 'asshole' was trying to teach you.
Just because you have the right away - AND it appears that the driver has seen you, does not mean that you should just stroll in front of him without a care.

Always be on the lookout, never assume the other driver is thinking as you are.
If you get hit - does it really matter whether you were right or not?
I guess in court it does, but to your physical injuries, it doesn't make a bit of difference.

My $10,000 sportbike got ripped off and they didn't even send an officer over to take the report for 2 days.

Like I said, more important things to worry about.
