NGD: It Will Make All Of My Pastrami Dreams Come True

Post by andvari7 »

Good evening,

I just spent the better part of a very frustrating week in Kentucky, helping my uncle move shit out of his house, which he sold to some Mennonites, and into the top floor of his law firm, of which he is the senior partner, and owner of the building. This is a bad idea, and he really didn’t plan this through. That’s why my dad and I had to go and get things done.

Anyway, as part of the deal, I scored a nice Kamado grill. It needs to be cleaned to within an inch of its life, and I need some of the fun accessories, if I want to get every single bit of potential out of it, and I can’t even use it at my apartment. My brother is graciously storing it at his house, under the condition that I have to cook for him, which I was going to do anyway.

So, I need to stock up on natural lump charcoal, a chimney starter, and newsprint. And legs of goats. And briskets. And pork shoulders. And Cornish hens. And quails. And alder chunks. And pecan chunks. And those giant-ass sausages they make in La Crosse. And trout.

Thank you.

I just took the thing home yesterday, and I have to leave for work in downtown Chicago in about twenty minutes. I’ll need to get the brisket, the spices, and the wood.
