this is a brand of food elitism I never fathomed.

Give me a Dominos and let me shake some cheese flavored tree pulp on it. Perfection.

Oh It's definitely a thing

But hate is too strong a word. I wouldn't throw out a slice of pizza if it had Parmesan in it. But I most definitely wouldn't add it myself. Parmesan is a strong cheese and will overpower the taste of pizza so at that point you might as well you just eat Parmesan with a spoon like fretless said

I'm with fretless. A phrase I never thought I'd have to utter. Every pizza place I've ever been has two shakers of shit on the table. Crushed red peppers and parm. It's there to be used. Fuckin' aye.

Granted, I grew up with Jake's pizza. Thin crust, pepperoni, sliced moz over the top. It ends up so greasy that if you don't douse it in parm you'll drip all the way from the plate to yer mouth hole. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Ugh. Now I want a large Jake's pepperoni completely coated in pepper and parm.

Dude that's what the little pepperoni cups are. They are just meaty parmesan spoons without handles.

I can't fathom how you were able to construct a sentence in the english language that denounced parmesan on pizza. I would think that were structurally impossible.

Parm is expected - as NFA pointed out, it's one of the two shakers at every pizza joint.

Yes, it's strong, but it's not like gorgonzola (which is also excellent on pizza, but I digress)

Also, to throw another grenade in the mix...

100% yes to hot sauce on pizza. Valentina or Tapatio for me, though.

Yes. This is a default for me on pizza, but I'm happy with my homemade, or my cheapo garlic habanero sauces too.

People that think a pizza is finished when it comes out of the oven simply hate their own lives. There's no other explanation.

Pizza is one of those "no rules" foods IMO. NY style/Detroit style/Chicago style/Freezer style/Left out overnight style.... it all eats just fine.

The only thing I've ever seen on a pizza that was just straight up stupid was macaroni and cheese.

what I do so you know for future reference on how to properly top a pie is toss a bunch of parm on before cooking ..making sure you get it into the pepperoni cups as Loop has brilliantly educated you on.. and then bake it so the parm gets crispy and it's oils flow into the pep cups as well . Then when it comes out toss more parm on .
