NPD: God Damn Rat.

I bought a Turbo Rat off ebay two weeks ago, it hadn't turned up and I want one for a gig this Saturday so last night I bought a different, early '90s Rat 2 and asked the seller to get it to me for tomorrow.
Naturally, the first Rat arrived in the post this morning. Oh well. Worse things to have than two rats.

I think I might be going for most different Rat pedals owned by one guy, I seem to always gravitate back to them eventually. I've had a Chinese Rat 2, Big Box Reissue, Hartman LM308, Another Big Box Reissue, a '90s Rat 2, and a Mooer Black Secret. And now I've got this Turbo and tomorrow I'll have another '90s Rat 2.
What a fucking idiot.

Happy new pedal haul. Rats are great! I've just sold one recently actually. May it serve you well!

I had an original 1983 big box & an '86 small box. Wish I woulda hung onto them. Rats are great. I turned my Bro onto them & he's used them exclusively ever since. Luckilly, if I ever wanted to use my old '83, he has it now, and would let me use it. (good thing about buying / selling / trading with friends)

Yeah this is always cool in regards to getting anything back eventually (if needed).

yeah. He and I have done that a few times. That, and giving each other first dibs on stuff when it goes up for sale. Any time he sells something I might want or need, he'll let me know first. We trade stuff & buy off each other quite often. Luckilly, we both use similar gear & have alot of the same taste in stuff, so it comes in handy.

Schweet. I do that with my bands mates/ musician friends, although rarely does anyone want anything.

Me either, but I used to use the rat as a boost on toneport back in the day. Kinda always wanted one.

They're great. My only gripe is that the small box ones could be a PITA to mount on a pedal board.
I hear that the white face RI's sound great. Would like to pick one up some day.

A Rat is hard to beat. Ive heard Rats run into junk SS combos that sounded killer. Versitile too. Depending on what else you have, a Rat can be used for alot of styles / toans

Rats are my favorite Disto/OD pedals ever. Others come and go, but I always go back to my Rat.
Stack a clean boost in front of it and look the fuck out.

yeah. Was always partial to a TS9 or TS808 in front of it (volume up, drive down, tone knob rolled back on TS). Killer combination

I'm using a Keeley Time Machine Boost. Either side depending on single coils or humbuckers.

I will post some clips of my stuff when I learn how to play guitar, and more importantly, get a way to recording clips. Hopefully in a month or so.

Had fun with the Turbo at band practice last night.
It's more raw sounding than the Rat 2, and has way more output - unity volume for me was half volume, whereas with Rat 2 it's usually between 2 and 3 o'clock. (I've got quite a heavy picking hand so to match cleans my overdrives usually have to be turned up)
Also the treble, while being more ragged, wasn't as piercing as I remember my last Rat 2 to be. Will be interested to try it alongside the one that should be arriving in the post today... if I have time tonight, might do a quite demo back to back.
Edit: here it is.

I'd like to have a junked our Deuce tone rat (the one thats 2 rats in one box) , and have an old school / stock rat in one side, then a modded / hot rodded / tweaked rat in the other. Always wanted to do that, but never got around to it.

+1 Like what I've heard from them though.
Awaiting clips to convince me I should pick one up.

My next Rat is going to be a Turbo. What you said about the output has me intruiged.
Plus, turbos' are cool. For Rats and Hot Rods.
