Dumb question about the iPAD 4 with Verizon

Don't know shit about apple stuff. My wife wants a iPAD Generation 4 where she can use it without our home wireless. Do you have to have a Verizon data package for the iPAD to work only with your own wifi? I would imagine no, but just checking to be sure.

No. You can set up the cellular service from the iPad itself anytime you like. Wifi works just like it does with everything else.

I have an Ipad retina I use just with wifi no cell phone package. we bought them direct from apple no cell phone package at all.

I really like mine it is so handy.
