WHITE EARTH, Minn. - Authorities responding to a report of a shooting here Thursday determined that a convicted felon who isn't supposed to have a gun accidentally shot himself in the leg.
Kristopher Lee Villebrun, 28, of White Earth, was taken by air ambulance to a Fargo hospital after what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The shooting occurred just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
John Seiling of the Becker County Sheriff's Office said that when officers arrived, they were told the injury was caused by a drive-by shooting. But an investigation and witness interviews confirmed the shooting was accidental, Seiling said.
The entry wound was in Villebrun's left thigh and the bullet exited the back of his leg. It appears to have been caused by a .22-caliber weapon. Villebrun’s wound is not considered life-threatening.
Authorities said Villebrun is a convicted felon and can’t legally possess firearms.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Earth,_MinnesotaWow, that sounds like one of the worst places ever. Also, as an isolated hamlet of <600 people, an exceedingly unlikely place for a drive-by shooting.

well everybody knows that, but sometimes you can make it harder for people
It has no bearing on me either way, but to be honest I hard that argument so much it makes me laugh. everybody knows that anywhere in the world if you really want a gun you can get one... but if you make it a bit harder it stops a lot of dumb asses.
I am not saying any more on this but that argument makes me lol.
My stand I am not anti gun, but I do agree with strict rules with owning one.
And out....

I didn't think it was possible either, as I thought Obama took all the guns.
Well, most of them. I hid this one in my basement where he couldn't find it.

Oh, it's cool, In enlightened and superior Europe where guns are definitely illegal and bad they don't have these problems.
Oh wait, some guy held 3 hostages in Germany with a gun.
http://news.yahoo.com/germany-man-takes ... 39089.htmlHow did that happen? I thought Europe was the beacon of gun control America was to follow? Does this guy know guns are illegal? It's impossible he got one.

Well obviously...
...their laws aren't strict enough, either.
We just need to take it upon ourselves to make these horrible instruments of death MORE illegal.
So the criminals (those who don't care if something is illegal) will care that something is illegal.

That's really their argument.
