So basically the government just admits to what google satellite maps proved 10 years ago?

I'm not saying that people who think it has to do with aliens are idiots...

considering the couple of sr71 (and other various aircraft, som undoubtedly "saucer shaped" in parts as seen on the blackbird's fuselage) crashes out of groom (dont have link, but there was a really long winded but interesting story about some aircraft artifact finders that after much journeying happened upon one of the 71 crash sites), and the fact that in the 71 at least, pilots wore basically space suits, and the awareness of our technological capability that standard desert dweller in the 50s and 60s had, the alien theory really doesn't surprise me at all. and the government probably loved that shit. the wilder the tales, the more wildly embellished the presumed capabilities of our aircraft by other nations. win win.

I read a really cool book a few years ago about Lockheed and how they developed those aircraft (SR71, U2, FA117). Really interesting read. They needed titanium for the SR71 due to the heat generated by the ridiculous air friction at Mach 3 and the USSR was the biggest supplier of it. So they set up a bunch of shell companies and bought tons of titanium from the Soviets to build planes to spy on them

Here's the book

I saw a documentary about are 51, on either nat geo or history(maybe the one in the op, lol), but they literally drove up 50 yards from the gate of area 51 and they were met by a vehicle with armed gaurds and an f16 flyover. Do they really need a fucking f16 to protect the blueprints for a couple old spyplanes? That being said, I don't have the slightest idea of what they might be hiding there, but I'd bet my left nut the gov't hasn't/won't ever level with the general population 100%.

i guarantee the f16 was already flying over, and their presence had nothing to do with it. they have a fighter squadron or two there, and they fly all the time. the airspace close to groom is even unrestricted on some days. in the stories i mentioned earlier, they overflew just such a section and were hassled by TAC, but upon citing the flight rules, they were allowed to proceed and simply announced their intentions for a little sight seeing. if groom were in the business of scrambling fast movers for potential threats, they certainly would have for an air threat.

turning this into a blackbird thread, i think its awesome that they STILL have not developed polymers advanced enough to seal the fuel bladders, and that it was designed to leak fuel like a sieve at ground temp.

Area 51 is just a few miles north of Nellis Air Force Base, and it's right in the middle of the biggest group of military aircraft "play ranges" in the USA. They run big wargames out there almost constantly, and Nellis is / was also home to around 75 F-16s, aside from their hundreds of regular "guests" visiting for the ranges.

It's quite probable the F-16 flyby had nothing to do with the guards meeting your friend. The guards are used to people rolling up on Groom Lake and Area 51, so they respond pretty quickly. There are "deadly force" warning signs posted there, too. They aren't screwing around. But there's a tiny podunk town called Rachel out there in the middle of no damned where, right amongst all the secret stuff. I think there's folks in Tonopah, too - again, right up against the secret zones.

this....

"....As a scientist I do not believe or disbelieve in any theory, instead I look for credible evidence and see which theories best fit the data at that time. As for the Horton brothers brilliant designs of gliders and aircraft they do not explain the size, shapes and performance of UFOs as in seen in the air and in space. Nor do they explain the variety of beings reported with UFOs...."
