yeah that whole airport is 
and we got a cab out of there to go drink...man, fuck that part of dallas. cab driver missed his exit, and the gps directions when from "3 mins to destination" to "35 mins to destination"
could still smoke in the bar though, that was nice.
not to mention the whole place was under construction.
i need to go to a nice area of dallas. every experience ive had has been a total nightmare.

i hear its a magical place. but that you either have to leave immediately or stay there for life, lest you be ruined by the world when you find out that the streets outside of this magical land aren't paved with indie record store taco bar pub spas and indie co ops, and that you cant pay for things with hugs or songs, to completely butcher patton oswalt's skit.

This, although my band really needs to get off our asses and make the trip.
We did write a few more songs, so the bass player will feel more comfortable making it down. I have to admit, after thinking about it, I do agree with him to a point. Driving 3 hours to play for 35 minutes or so would be kinda cray. even if we only play 35-40 mminutes, I'd rather have a few extra songs in the bag just in case.

for them its like "i dont know these queers, this bar sucks, none of our friends are here, and no one is going to care about our music. and its basically a 6 hours drive for a 30 minutes set for little to no pay and maybe only a little recognition in austin"
maybe there can be some other incentives like we could make a bbq out of it or something.

That actually sounds kind of awesome.
Yeah, it also didn't help that the bassist had an epic travel itinerary due to teachers having the summer off. I pretend like it annoys me but I'm really just super jealous

we would have to try and not get too fucked up before said show, but it would be cool to have a saturday bbq/lake/house hangout either before or the day after (drive down for a friday show, hang out saturday maybe)

I'd vote for day after show. Play Friday night, party all day Saturday, party harder Saturday night, return Sunday
