So many failures lately they needed to target something that was a sure win?

They have been doing this all along. The whole thing is about stealing all the money on the raid & terrorizing the people. They come in with machineguns full on raid style. If they just wanted to shut them down all they need to do is send a notice to them or post it on the site. Being here where it is legal & seeing this and the rest of the circus that is happening around the entire subject - in my view things were better in many ways before the state decided to go into the weed business. Who knows how it is going to turnout .... but right now it is a mess.

State's rights always trump fed "rulings." The most basic example is that sheriff's can arrest the president.

Yup. Which is fucking stupid.

Of all the actual, real drug issues the country has, targeting state legal dispensaries is obviously a great use of resources.

Around here (Seattle) the current "dispensaries" are just street dealers with a legit store front. You can find ads like "In pain? For $50 one our medical professionals will write you a GREEN prescription!" I have little doubt that many of these are involved in other non-DEA approved activities.

Having said that, I am looking forward to when our recent legalization is put into full practice. Done right, it will put the black market right out of business. I don't really care if anyone smokes pot, I just don't want the drug lords that come with your green delight.
