"I love you so much baby" messages on Facebook. Ugh

Why do people send their mushy "I love you" messages to their significant others on Facebook when it would be so much easier to say it in person? You know the type, "I want to say happy birthday and I love you to best husband/wife ever." Well, if you want to, why not stop typing on Facebook and just go do it?
Here is the message I want to see on FB, just one time:
"Ten years ago I married the biggest sack o' shit bitch/bastard on the face of the earth and my life has been a living hell ever since. Pack up your shit and get the hell outa my house before sundown!"
Now THAT is an anniversary message.
Rant over. Carry on.

People who post too much lovey-dovey shit on their significant others' FB are often the same ones that seem to break up and get back together every two months.

The next step worse than that is the couples that have a shared Facebook. That's when you just
know someone got caught cheatin'.

Lol my wife goes mental every time she sees this stuff, she hates it,
I liked her post because once, because I knew she would get pissed. Within 10 min she stormed into the room I was in and said why don't you tell me you like it rather posting on FB, I lolled.
We have some friends who always comment on each others posts (husband and wife) it drives my wife nuts) and me actually

The constant back and forth stuff seems like a strange way for them to prove to everyone and their dog how much 'love' they feel. I dunno why people have to prove that shit to the outside world.

Yeah, in a lot of cases I think of it as overcompensating, covering up, or marking territory.

Right. I wish FB had an auto correct so the true meaning would be posted instead of all that sappy ass shit. So the "I want to say I love you to the best wife ever" message would be posted as, " Last night I stayed out with the boys a little too long, had a couple too many co-colas and came home covered in glitter and smelling like the booty club. Now I'm in deep shit and need to get on the wife's good side ASAP."
A little truth for once.

I have a friend who does this shit fucking RELENTLESSLY like its going out of fucking style.
Every post is 'My wonderful husband made me dinner, isn't he the BEST!?!'
Or 'Spent some time with my love just watching movies on the couch. My favorite time ever!!'
Or 'My love just gave me one of my Christmas presents early (MY EDIT, It was September) I guess he just loves me that much!!'
Seriously makes me want to fucking puke. I'm even toning it down for you guys.

That's about half my friends on FB. I wonder if they know they look like a silly ass when they post this stuff? Obviously not.

I had to fix her computer once and there are two separate folders on her desktop. One for love notes from him to her and one with love notes from her to him.
And poems, and silly edited pics.
It goes beyond PDA. It's disgusting.

I post shit like that on V-day, her birthday etc... mainly because the dog house is really uncomfortable.

I do sometimes.
Not constantly though.
Hell, I warned her when I invited her to be my FB friend that I am not responsible for the content on it.
I'm a complete sap about her though cause I'm still a bit confused as to how I ended up with an amazing woman like her who thinks I'm the best thing that ever happened to her. But hey, I ain't complaining.
