Post by Dickarms »

why are they so inflated? gibson LPJ for example: MSRP: $1099. List on MF: $699 which means probably $599 afte coupons and shit. so why almost double for MSRP?

So that you think you're getting a good deal paying half MSRP. It's similar to the way everything is priced. $699 is basically $700. But seeing that 6 in front just seems makes a huge impact on how you perceive the price.

To make you think you're getting a really good deal making you subconsciously more willing to purchase it?

That's exactly it. MSRP means absolutely nothing to me, and I don't even notice it anymore.

MSRP is what the manufacturers suggest to all distributors globally. Here in the US and Canada you usually pay a lot less, because of the huge volume of MI sales compared to the rest of the world, but in just about any other country you will actually pay MSRP or close to it.
Guitars:
'78 Les Paul Pro / '89 SG Special/ '04 Gibson Les Paul Classic 3 pickup / Jackson Star/ Endres Tele / Fernandes Rhoads/ ''74 Hohner MIJ strat/ 2 Partscasters

Amps:
Depends on when you ask. I got tired of constantly updating this section lol

Cabs
Marshall 1960A w V30s/ Seismic 2x12 w Redback and V30.
