So I ordered a Triode Vibrochamp kit. Most of the components came in today, and the rest shipped today. So I should be able to really dig into the build next week. I ordered a unpunched chassis and a step bit, so that will be an adventure

Got the board as populated as I can:

Should be a lot of fun. :rawk:

I almost never worry about de-burring holes. It's not a bad thing of course, but I just seldom take the time unless the hole is exceptionally rough.

The de-burring thing was a HCAF joke that came about when Doug Roccaforte did an amp build photo journal. Pretty much every time someone documents a build someone will chime in with the helpful advice that they should de-burr the holes.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Doug R. Huh... ! I guess I missed all the excitement! The comment above went right over my head. Now I see it was a tounge in cheek thing. I tend to take things more seriously than necessary sometimes.

And I actually don't always deburr the holes, but it certianly isn't a bad thing.

So who won? Do we deburr or not? :hmm:

You either de-burr - or quit the forum.
There is no other option.

I'll certianly deburr all the burrs I find. Furry holes are OK but burry holes are not. I got it now.

Chassis drill, holes deburred.

Sadly when drilling an already bent chassis there a lot of bow when doing the front/back, so they're arent the most linear holes. I left some gap so I can adjust once pots are on. Fingers crossed that it'll look okay. the top came out awesome though

I need to buy some isolated phone jacks tomorrow and then I'm set. I also need washers for the switches.

Got the tube/transformer/pot wiring started last night. However I hit a small snag, the Radio Shack near me doesn't sell cliff style jacks and I want to keep this build as quiet as possible. So I have new jacks incoming. Hopefully I'll be able to resume the build over the weekend.

It's coming together nicely now. I have nearly got my workshop set up after moving so I hope to get the iron hot this week :)

Question for you builders, the schematic calls for use of the 8ohm tap off the OT with an extension cab out. However I want to wire the 2 outputs for 8 and 16 ohm taps. How would I go about this?
