GGF bros help me out - pedal choices
Some definite fucking around going on here but I've been doing some pedalboard reorganizing and am looking for some ambient, loopy, madness. The band has unfortunately been somewhat quiet for a while now so most of my playing has been more ambient, soundscape-y, bullshit and I'm finally looking for something to really just go all in and enhance that, fill some space and get weird. I'm well covered in the delay and reverb departments so I'm thinking about getting a little loop action going but definitely not looking for a traditional, straight up looper. Leading contenders for what I'm thinking are Chase Bliss Mood MkII or Red Panda Tensor. Leaning towards the Tensor. What do ya'll think?

I'm interested in this as well. I've never owned a proper looping pedal.

I only have experience with all the boss stuff and dittos
Have you thought about a Montreal assembly count to 5? Might be another contender in that wonky realm

I have mood mk i.
Inspiring badass pedal. Doesn’t get all that loopy though. The habit echo gets loopier, but it’s not as ambient as the mood.

Yeah I'm definitely not going for straight looper. Something that adds ambience but isn't really a typical delay or reverb but fills space. Which is why I'm thinking Mood/other "micro-loopers," and such. Gene you ever try the Tensor?

Nope. Not sure what it is.
Get the mood.

I've got the Mood and the Tensor. You really can't go wrong with either pedal for what it sounds like you're doing. They both do the same microlooping thing, the Tensor is like the right hand side of the Mood. I can get a longer loop going with the Tensor, but I'd venture to say the CB allows you to tweak the loop more, and the really nice thing about the Mood is it has a killer reverb and/or digital delay on the left side of the pedal, and both sound killer in their own right just added to your guitar signal. When you start sending the loop through the left side, that's when shit gets really trippy.
Re: GGF bros help me out - pedal choices
Thanks Itchy hah another opinion that is just pushing me towards the MOOD.

Yep, did it. Mood incoming. Got a MK I thought because I found one used for a good price. If I feel like I'm missing the additional features I can always upgrade to a MKII later.

If I can offer some advice when it comes to Chase Bliss pedals - take the time to understand the top of the pedal, and what each knob does when you have the algo switch in each position (because it can change). Don't even get into the dip switches until you're well versed with how the top works.
And for the Mood in particular, start with the left side, get the reverb and delay figured out before messing with slip, then figure out the right side (looper), then get 'em both going and working together with that middle switch.

Thanks man, appreciate the advice. That sounds like a solid way to start. Where do you usually put MOOD in your signal chain?

I put it last. Or 2nd to last before my conventional looper.

The new Line 6 DL4 MK2 seems pretty bad ass and I've seen it on sale recently for $249. The looper is great. You can go all Radiohead like if you wanna.
