Broke out the Bluguitar Amp1 again

Our of pure laziness I decided to take the Amp1 to practice today so I wouldn't have to carry a head

I forgot how good this little amp sounds, it's not quite the same as my regular heads, I notice a bit of the SS feel, especially on single notes but it's definitely close enough to the point I don't think anyone would notice it through the FOH.

Good amp to have as a super portable backup or even as a main amp on lazy days lol

I'm still too attached to having a tube head behind me on stage but tone wise that would definitely be an option. But playing a plexi is still way cooler

I really like mine as well but gotta agree, yes.. not a big and round rounding as a tube amp...
BUT. certainly acceptable sound.... and having a backup amp on your pedal board is amazing.. :)

I have been using mine for a silly and easy stereo setup live:

TC Electonic mimiq --->Blueguitar-->Cab Left Stage
GTR-->
TC Electronic mimiq-->Amp Head-->Cab Right Stage

Super fun to play with live.... and of course stereo DLY, Trems, etc...

 :hmm: Interesting. I've been fucking around with W/D rigs recently but I'm not sure why it didn't even cross my mind to try it with the Bluguitar!!

That would actually make this set up doable as far as portability goes!!!I feel dumb for not even thinking of this!!! :loon:

But hey that is what this forum is for. Good call dude. Holy shit.

haha I thought you might be all over that.. :)

If you have Plethora X5 or the separate mimiq pedal the doubling feature is a lot fun.
Just adds to the stereo imaging a bit or a lot if you set the tracking looser on the other side of the stage.

yah the mimiq with two amps is great fun, i leave mine on "1 dub" and send one out to each amp and its like jamming with yourself as a second guitar player. just make sure your cabs are spaced out

For you guys that have the Amp 1, I'm curious to hear your opinion when you guys get the Amp-X :D

I am not planning on getting it tbh. What I like about the Amp 1 the most is that it's simple to use. Just dial knobs and get a sound quick like a normal amp. I really don't want to deal with all the programming and options in the Amp X. Unless they make everything extremely easy, like pedalboard easy. The $2k estimated price is also a a turn off. I am not saying it's not worth that much, Thomas has been working very hard on it, but it is not something I am willing to spend that kind of money on.

Watched one of Euge's vids a couple weeks ago, where he just received the Bad Boy back from Blug after a few months. Said something like Thomas has about 99% of the Bad Boy tone ready to go in the AmpX. That would be cool but, I rarely use more than one channel anyway so the Iridium gets it done for me. I really like the Mercury edition as well.
