I actually did a bunch of merch for ST. Been sitting on the designs for 6 months. Sucked knowing all this stuff about the season and not being able to talk about it with anyone.

I LOVE this season. I also confess, I bought Kate Bush's Hounds of Love album. She released a rare statement showing excitement and gratitude for her newfound fame. I think that's cool. It's on the charts.

Lots of it's really entertaining.

Kinda confused as to how all of the attributes that Will had in the first and second seasons just disappeared. His birthday *POOF*. His connection to the upside down *POOF*. His existence other than showing up long enough to annoy others *POOF*. I guess even the showrunners have said in interviews they just sorta forgot about him. LOL.

Outside of that, it is really good shit. The 11 stuff went full wack-a-doo in the best ways, and I was LOVING the Hopper in Russia shit.

That's pretty fucking awesome man! Congrats!

We know someone who got a part on the last couple seasons. This season she got a speaking role. She's one of the people that say "NO!" to being the extra D&D player

Agreed really loved this season despite expecting the worst.
Honestly hope this season wraps it up though. Too many shows extend past their sweet spot and logical conclusion and ultimately turn to shit before ending.

There's one more season on the books, so the next two episodes are likely going to leave us with a cliff hanger for the next season...

I'm really wondering who they are going to kill before the end of the season, only because that seems to be their normal deal each season, some liked/loved character bites it....

Yeah they are saying 5 seasons and a spin-off show after it.

That seems like a lot but given that I thought season 3 was the end of it and they really kicked ass on S4, I'll withhold judgment until I see the future seasons.
So far they have been more than able to maintain quality so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah this season definitely surprised me due to the trend.

Season 1 - Awesome!
Season 2 - Its like season 1 but everything's bigger and scarier! Rawr.
Season 3 - Full Cobra Kai 80s nostalgia ride
Season 4 - Plot twist(s) and the best horror they've done, wait what?

Certainly not where I saw it going so maybe they'll do it well. I just wish more shows took the Breaking Bad approach and planned the arc and executed on it instead of getting stuck in the same traps shows like the Office or Dexter did.
If Stranger Things pulls this off it'll be great but my gut says with Netflix bleeding subscribers and killing so many shows they'll try to milk Stranger Things for all its worth.

Season 5 is confirmed to be the last....from what I've read they definitely had an arc planned out, I think initially it was a 3 season arc BUT after season 1 got such big reviews they had them bump it to 5. Talks of spin offs isn't a big surprise, and I'm not against that since at least they can close this chapter and move on with something else

Hey, jumping from eighties nostalgia to nineties nostalgia would be a good way to kill off the audience draw. Fuck the nineties.

Granted, the kids have aged so much, maybe by the time they get to the last season it'll be more 00's based?

Well thats good at least.
I'm also good with a good time jump for season 5. While sometimes it totally fails other times its a great way to keep the same world and characters but apply a sort of a reset that really freshens things up (Parks & Rec).

A planned arc is good, but I've been noticing a lot of show's lately seem to be using an entire first season ONLY to build to and set up for a second season, without much substance or anything eventful happening. If I'm wanting to watch a second season of a show its because the first season was really good and could stand on its own. Not because there was a bunch of build up without pay off and a bunch of "whats gonna happens" throughout an entire first season

I agree.
Thats why I use BB as the example since they handled that combination very well. There are a handful of episodes that kind of go nowhere in and of themselves but overall every season rides well and nearly every episode does too.

The worst of all worlds is what we've been getting with Netflix, a couple seasons of world building and character development just to have them get the ax before reaching a logical closure point.
What I'd give for some service or network to pickup Last Man on Earth and finish that properly.

Netflix business model is destined to fail in the long run so I'm sure they will be making changes soon.

They're running a closed business model where Netflix produced content only airs on Netflix and Netflix subscribers only get Netflix and nothing else.

That works for a while but once you get competition from open subscription services like Sling etc where you're getting several sources of content for basically the same cost, the closed business model cannot compete, even if closed service is actually superior.

This is the same thing that happened with Mac vs Windows, VHS vs Betamax etc... the open model will always outgrow and sometimes even kill the closed model.

What Netflix needs to do is start licensing their content to other platforms or even syndication as well as bring more content sources into their platform or they're going to continue to hemorrhage subscribers.

Just finished part 1 of Season 4 tonight. That twist was epic. It’s gonna be a long month until part 2 drops
