Switching DAWs... Thinking Tracktion 4 from Reaper

I have been using Reaper for a long time, and I know it fairly well (or at least I am comfortable in the environment). However, I had a version of Tracktion 3 when I bought a Mackie mixer that I never really fell in love with until recently. I am starting to really like the interface. Recently Tracktion went back to its original owner/developer and out of Mackie's hands. I am tempted to buy new version of Tracktion (v.4.30) as I get a deal on upgrading from 3 to 4.
I have a couple concerns (and I don't know if this is because I am using the trial version) and they are that Tracktion 4 seems to not load all my VSTs and crashes when I try to record a song with filters loaded.
Has anyone messed around with this new version of Tracktion? I am finding the UI to be a lot easier to work with on my laptop than Reaper.
Thanks!
Cole
