Got diagnosed with sleep apnea, gotta use a CPAP machine which as you can imagine is really fun.
Talked to kid brother about it and he’s pretty sure he has it too, has a sleep test in a week or so. We both have great insurance, he told me he’s going for this:
https://www.inspiresleep.com/Anybody done this? It’s an implant that does what the sleepy machine does with a remote; instead of this whole procedure I just click a button and go to sleep. I’m fuckin IN, don’t care about implants fuck you id be a sleepy cyborg.
Any input?

What the fuck??? Man I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 15 years ago. That’s when I was really heavy.
I used the cpap for about 2 years but honestly it was awful. I used to take it off halfway through the night. Once I lost the weight my snoring stopped and sleep got way better so I never bothered Re-testing.
I’d try this though Over the machine for sure.

I use a machine every night with no issues. There are so many different face pieces available that the trick is to find the one you are most comfortable with.
Don't think I could choose an implant. Too invasive.

I use a machine. I almost can’t sleep without it. I take it off sometimes if I’ve been drinking, then my wife nudges me to put it on. I almost can’t sleep without it. I don’t fall asleep anymore unless I’m in bed, so I think it has helped me to sleep better

My nazal passages swell up as soon as I lie down to sleep and I can't breath through my nose.
When I can't breath through my nose, my mouth dries out and I get a sore throat.
I was using Afrin to allow me to breath through my nose and it worked like a charm.
It's habit forming and when I got addicted, I'd kick it with Flonase. Flonase sucks so, I was always going back to Afrin.
After continued use, Afrin burns your nose and with time, becomes less effective.
An otolaryngologist recommended "nasal dilators" and they help me breath normally when I sleep.
I'm really glad they work because, I couldn't sleep with a c-pap.
These work really well and I haven't had to use Afrin in almost a year.

thanks for this tip!
I have 24/7 clogged up nasal passages (the stupid allergist said that I'm not allergic to anything!!)
So maybe I'll give these a try!

I’ve been using a cpap for years with zero issue. Once I got used to it I got some of the best deep REM sleep I’ve ever had.

I went to an allergist about three years ago and he also said I didn't have any allergies.
He acted like I was the first person to walk in his office with this complaint - he had no suggestions or recommendations.
My regular doctor told me to go to have a sleep test. I told him that, all they're going to find out is that I can't breath through my nose. Why do I need a sleep test?
The fact that nasal dilators are being sold means that this is a common issue so, why don't doctors know about this issue???
I guess they want you to feed the $ystem before one of them finally makes the suggestion.

That looks... interesting. I've got mild sleep apnea, but I could never sleep well with a CPAP. I tried for about 2 years with over 10 different mask types, but I could rarely fail asleep with it, and even when I could, I'd half wake up like an hour later and take it off. Sometimes I'd even take it off IN my sleep. I've partially solved it by using a higher loft pillow the elevates my head a bit more, but this might be something to look into.

Had my first night with this last night and I dunno if it was a fluke or placebo but I actually slept well and didn't toss and turn ten thousand times as usual. Actually woke up this morning without feeling like shit
