I love buying cd's and the occasional record. Recently started buying certain music and documentary dvd's. Live concerts, Ken Burns documentaries, etc.. I am also in the process of piecing together a old school Hi-Fi based around a Luxman reciever. I think I am building myself a sort analog hideout or something.

We were listening to a Hank Williams record the other night and I completely forgot that I have to flip the record.

I love the physical aspect of actually "having" the music.

I have collector / borderline hoarder tendencies. I can't imagine a room full of vinyl, so I simply refuse to go down that rabbit hole.

I'm binging Seinfeld on Netflix, and recently watched the episode about Jerry's over due book at the library. Man, I had forgotten all about those wooden rods that they used to put the newspapers in.

Trying to save a quarter.

I still do physical media and even when I'm listening to ripped tunes I listen to whole albums rather than individual songs in scrambler mode like most of the ADHD crowd.

Albums are best. Not every album is a start to finisher but the ones that are are fantastic. I still do that more than random songs too.

Yeah, vinyl has been getting way bigger during the pandemic. I've been collecting my top albums of the past as they're re-pressed and getting the new albums I really enjoy, but I can't say I understand the guys that just want to buy everyfuckingthing. If I don't see myself playing it lots, I won't get it.

There's so much obscure vinyl out there that has so much value because it's obscure, not because it's good. It's kind of amazing what people buy and really dig though.

I spend about 2 hours in my car everyday.
I have a ton of albums on my phone but, when you're driving, it's way easier to change CDs than it is to fumble around with your cell phone.


Other than a few new movies, most of the films I want to see are only available on DVD.
I have a subscription to Netflix DVD by mail and I usually watch 2 or 3 movies a month... film noir, Humphry Bogart, samurai, foreign films and weird stuff you can't find streaming.

I was on a tear in the late 90's, early 2000s with CD collecting. I had this idea that if I could get 9000 cds, I could continually rotate through the collection and not hear the same track for a year. I reached around 8000 when I started streaming music instead. The shit just took up room, over a dozen fat CD binders, rarely listened to any of it. I reluctantly threw away 6000 cds in 2021, still hurts a bit.

Getting rid of all my vinyl, DVDs and CDs sure would make more room for guitars and amps!!!
I tossed a ton of vinly when I moved 3 years ago. They were mildewed from sitting in a shed for 10 years so, I couldn't give them away.

I really can't stand the way streaming services compress the heck out of mp3 files that have -already- been compressed and maximized for loudness.
Radio stations do it as well... to the point where they are absolutely unlistenable.
Just awful.

I like skimming through music on Bandcamp, YouTube and Amazon Music. I can quickly listen to a lot of music... it helps me to decide which albums I want to buy on CD... weeding out what I don't like saves $$$ and space.

lotta vinyl here. lotta cds. full stop parental stereo rig.

but also massive digital setup and streaming capacity.

i love it all, but yeah.. making cool lps was fun, and designing 7"es waa always a blast

Man, kids these days don't know what it was like to buy a CD before you knew whether or not it was any good or brave the grungy headphones at the listening stations.

My 19 year-old son has gotten the vinyl bug in a big way. After taking my collection, he started but lots of old 78s from eBay, and loves listening to 100 year-old jazz and blues. Gives me hope.

I've been getting into blu-ray and hi-res DVD Audio. I love surround sound mixes and new takes on original mixes. Though I purchased some records, it's more for collecting them listening since I don't have a record player.

The latest Tears For Fears release of Sewing The Seeds of Love and Empath from Devin Townsend are great for surround sound music.

Typical pay-day for me and my buds in high school / grocery store rotation.

1. Burger King
2. Ernie Novembers where we pick a CD cover that looks brutal.
3. Drive around listening and deciding if we'd bought a dud or a .

I miss those days sometimes.
