Fuck the weeknd and his boring ass super bowl show. Best show I can remember was Bruno mars. High energy, great choreography, catchy tunes.

What was that shit tonight?

Wife and I said the same thing.

The weekend is about as exciting as Ian Curtis.

I watch all of these current acts and it makes me more secure in never evolving past The Hellacopters. Miley made Billy Idol sound like Pavarotti.

Prince was it for me man. Bruno Mars was good but Prince was really the best I can ever remember seeing.

Even acts that aren't super dynamic usually bring a guest star or do something interesting. The Weeknd just stood there. Also, he was flat quite a bit. No excuse at that level. If you aren't dancing you should nail the vocals. He's like a budget Michael Jackson that can't dance.

I don't think The Weeknd was the right choice. "Family friendly" events like the Super Bowl seem out of his element considering how explicitly sexualized most of his music is. He has a specific type of act that doesn't translate well into what a Super Bowl is expected to be, and he swung and missed when he tried.

On the opposite end of things, Post Malone did a live stream on New Years sponsored by Bud Light, and he killed it. Minimalist stage setup, but it was a great show. Toward the end, he brought out Chad Smith from RHCP and Chris Chaney from Jane's Addiction to cover Rooster, and to close the set, Slash came out and they all covered War Pigs.

I don’t understand why The Weekend is a thing.

I am happy to not understand any of these crappy new artist's. They lack melody and vocabulary.

The Super Bowl franchise may have decided to take bids for the halftime entertainment, this year.

I think it was the Colts vs the Bears? All I remember was that Prince told God to make it rain for the performance. Only Prince has that kinda clout.

Lenny, Prince, and Bruno are my faves that I can remember of the last couple of decades.

I was always ok with Bruno but gained a lot of respect after seeing his performance.
