GWAR Is Playing A Live Show...

...And I Watched It
Good evening,
I think I may have mentioned that I’m a huge fan of the band GWAR. I’ve seen them live nine times, and I probably know too much useless trivia about them. This year is the thirtieth anniversary of their landmark album, Scumdogs of the Universe, and they remastered it, released it on vinyl and cassette, and were probably gearing up for a tour. Well, 2020, and they had to do a livestream, which began at 5p CDT, with their first video release, Live From Antarctica. Comic interludes and shameless self-promotion followed, and then the concert, in which GWAR is playing the album, out of order.
The bad: The feed is not stable at all. That’s really the worst part of these things.
The good:
1. While I’m not the biggest fan of the live guitar tone in recent years, I really liked how chewy the guitar tone was tonight.
2. Slymenstra Hymen back with GWAR, even if only for one night.
3. Techno Destructo, who had left somewhat acrimoniously 20 years ago, came back for one night.
4. Sexecutioner, who didn’t leave acrimoniously, came back.
5. They played the songs off of Scumdogs they never do live.
6. It’s fucking GWAR.
So, I will be doing this again tomorrow, with Here Come The Mummies, and it will not be on my phone, because that was uncomfortable. If this live stream could be considered a concert, then I just finished my tenth GWAR show. I just wish it been at the Sylvee.
Thank you.
