NBY&PD!!! Finally done!

So some of you may remember that we moved out of Las Vegas to the "country" over here in Pahrump, NV literally 2 days before the COVID lockdown happened.

Well, we're in a planned community so you HAVE to have your yard landscaped within the first year of construction.

Outside of houses being considerably cheaper with way more lot space, the biggest driver for us was how quiet it is here. The lot size helped. We're building a casita for designated studio space for me in 2021, but we also wanted to put in a pool as my kids love swimming and all, even though they're a little older now. We definitely plan on this being a very long term house so we said "fuck it".

Still have about 30 days for curing before we can heat this thing, so looks like thanksgiving hot tub will be about as early as we can use the spa. My son says he's willing to hit the pool unheated at least once! LOL!

Anyway, super stoked. Never thought I'd be a pool guy but shit, even just sitting having coffee by the fire pit and just hearing the water is about the most relaxed I have been in ages.

Thanks man, the bulldog is awesome (not pictured). I sent a vid over to the wife since today was the first day we got to turn any of the stuff on. Literally just finished filling this morning at like 4am.

Anyway, the bulldog was standing next to the hot tub and when it powered on she shot about a foot into the air! LOL! Even before we started landscaping, this was the first house we ever just felt super relaxed in. It's so slow/queit up here. Total decompression spot.

Thanks bud. We're so excited!

It's fresh water. We thought about salt but apparently in Nevada, we were told it's not as popular with resale homes. Pools are a dicey proposition that way anyway. People either really want them or it's a complete deal breaker.

Something about salt water in a pool seems wrong to me lol..... but I've been told the salt water ones require less maintenance, funny that it would turn people off

That's beautiful dude! I'm trying to talk a coworker of mine to move out there. I keep telling her it's beautiful and not Michigan.

Thanks all! I am half tempted to say fuck it, and rip a sick cannonball off the water feature! We still have 10 days of brushing the plaster 3-5 times a day and I guess about 30 days til it's fully cured.

The system we have is VERY low maintenance and a lot of the stuff seems to be automated, so no need for pool service. Our propane tank for the heater gets installed next week, No electric heaters for pools allowed in Pahrump.

Yeah it sounds gross to me honestly. My father in law had one and according to his wife, he could never het the water "right"

Looks amazing man. And yeah if I was still in NV I'd be in Pahrump or Mesquite by now. Vegas gets old quickly.

Looks killer Jer, you guys must be stoked!

Hey man, just a word of caution from a horrible experience in my life. Since you have a bulldog, please consider putting up a gate around the pool. The breed does not do well with swimming, and if the dog somehow got out by the pool unsupervised... Trust me, please consider.
