https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thever ... comparisonWith the last gen RTX 2000 series, there was a bit of hesitation in the gaming community because the upgrade from the GTX series was a bit lukewarm. But now, its a whole new game.
For example, the new RTX 3070 at $500 is set to perform better than the RTX 2080 Ti ($1200).
It would be reasonable to assume the 3060 will be matched closely to the 2080, and so on.
This is good news since it means the tech has caught on and raytracing is here to stay.
I own an RTX 2070, and I must say that the prospect of moving to a 3070 would be fantastic. I would usually wait for two cycles before buying, but I might pull the trigger on one. We shall see.

I'm upgrading from a 980 to either 3070 or 3080 most likely. Just bought a 600W PSU a few months ago as my old one shit out. I did contemplate going to 750W but there were no deals at the time : facepalm:
Looking forward to playing MSFS20 in higher detail and breezing most VR games! I'll probably get a 1440p 144Hz freesync monitor too.

Man, I haven't been building PCs in over 10 years. It's wild to see the specs on modern components

I built a computer back in March due to the lockdown and it was an interesting experience as I haven’t built a personal computer for 13 years. You can do a lot.
I used a Ryzen 5700xt for the graphics card ( I got it cheap) but I am really looking at a 3070 they look amazing value.
I bet the will be sold out at the start.
Here’s my build for fun

I haven't built one in a long time, either. I used to enjoy it, but I work in IT, so when I get home, my desire to tweak shit is thin. I just want to turn things on and have them work. My home workstation is a few years old at this point, but still solid (dual 6-core Xeon procs, 64GB RAM, SSD's in RAID arrays, etc.), but the video card is geared toward OpenGL and CAD/engineering. MS FS2020 is thumbing it's nose at it. I could probably drop in a new card and dial everything up to 70%, but it might be time to build one. What's a good source for gaming rig build suggestions these days? Something that lists recommended boards, procs and memory and helps with compatibility checking? I couldn't care less about clear case panels and LED lights. A powerful, reliable and quiet rig is more important. It would also be taking over DAW functions...

I went 3700x because I am cheap and 8 cores is enough for me even though I want more.
