A somewhat local bat company was having a sale, so I figured I’d get myself a custom cut bat. 33.5”/-1 drop, no cup.
This thing feels like a fucking hammer.

Also, the inscription is my wife’s description of what kind of hitter/batter I am.

She’s real funny.

A few years ago, my wife and I toured the Louisville slugger factory. Watching them make bats for MLB was really cool.

Cut about 8 inches off the end and put barb-wire on it

That is super cool.
In other news, I had my first game last night. Managed to ground out three times.
Stupid bat.

That’s basically what happened. I walked up to the plate just trying to nuke it. Pulled my head out as though I was already watching for my team to come out of the dugout to high five me. Facepalm.

A long time ago we had a company softball team. One of the guy’s son played with us and he was an absolute ringer. He could throw a straight ass frozen rope from deep center to home plate. He was playing short stop one day and fielded an easy double play. The runner coming from 1st didn’t yield the throwing lane and and the fielder threw the ball and it hit the runner square in the forehead and knocked him clean out. The other team was super pissed but the ump said it was a clean play because the runner had no chance whatsoever at the bag. The runner came to, shook the fielder’s hand and went to the hospital with the biggest cartoon looking goose egg I’ve ever seen. Kinda surprised it didn’t kill him.
