All right GGF! It's been a year to say the least, so let's let off some steam with our time honored tradition.

These are the rules:

Please post pictures of your rig ready to go, wired up, passing signal. This is not a "gear collection" contest. It's all about the RIG.
Maximum of 2 guitars in the rig picture. For the same reason as above.
Pictures used on previous BOTRs will not be allowed. Please take a new picture for this contest
You can enter multiple categories if you have different rigs. But only one entry per category is allowed. For example if you have a combo and a 1/2 stack you can enter both categories. If you have 2 half-stacks, pick your best one and enter once in that category.
The post threads will be open Monday June 8th until Monday June 29th 12PM PDT. After that point Billy or I will lock the post threads and create voting polls.
Voting starts on the 30th and goes until Sunday July 5th 12PM PDT. 6 days should be enough for voting.
The winners of each category will then compete for "Best Overall Rig of 2020" From July 6th to July 11th 12 PDT.

WE HAVE PRIZES!!!

Individual Category Prizes: Winners will receive a set of Throbak 10-46 Pure Nickel Strings.

Grand Prizes for Overall winners: Prizes have been offered and donated by our member Fretless. Since they're both fairly close in value, I've decided this year that the grand prize winner will have first dibs of which he wants and the remainder prize will go to the runner up.

Prizes are a choice between a practically brand new WGS G12C 8 Ohm Speaker that has never been installed and a practically NOS Lane Poor Acoustic Guitar Pickup system, courtesy of Fretless. Grand prize winner first pick and runner up receives the second. Please note, that due to these being from Fretless's personal collection he is requesting that if the winner is outside of the US that they work with him to make and pay for shipping arrangements.

Contest is open to all GGF members with 10 posts or more.
Creating alts for voting purposes will automatically disqualify you, not to mention you will also get some days off.
Inviting new members to join and vote is not only allowed, it is encouraged! Help spread the word about GGF!

Finally, please keep the post threads for gear pictures only and take all the discussion to this thread. That will keep things easier.

Thanks!!!!!!!!

I’ve done it before but I’d rather not if absolutely possible.

Heck yeah. Entering this year.

Do we have a preliminary category list, or is it the same as last year?

Probably same as last year. We made some expansion into rack rigs last year so I hope to see more of those this year.

Since my recording rig is a smorgasbord of different shit, I wouldn't even know what category I'd try to fit in. I'm running a combo in 4CM with a rack then powering a separate cab with it.

So is that combo, rack, mini/half stack, fustercluck or shitshow?

And since I already know what he'll say here: SHUT UP, DBN!

Don't flatter yourself.

Like I give a shit what crap you're playing through.

I'd say it's a combo rig still...

Technically the combo is just a head as the internal speaker is shut off.

Meh. Dunno why I'm worrying about it. I'll never take a picture of it in its current state anyway. There's literally toys and bikes and shit piled all around it right now.

Alright here’s a question before I go take photos:

I use the same big pedalboard for my multiple rigs. I carry it between my head/cab rig and my combo rig.

Now, do I include it in my head/cab and combo submissions, or just enter it in the pedalboard category?

You can include it as part of your submissions for the others but submit it on its own for the respective pedalboard. I mean if it’s part of the full rig then use it. I always voted based on the head/cab or combo for that setup more than anything.

sooooooo....do Tuners count as a pedal on your board?? lol

So tuners: if it’s a rack tuner, no it doesn’t count. If it’s a snark or clip on, no it doesn’t count. If it’s a pedal tuner then it counts as a pedal lol.

K one more question: my head/cab rig has two heads and two cabs. Is that allowed?

It is not. If you have two heads and two cabs, pick the best one.

Prizes announced, see the rules above. I'd also like to add, we're going to be more strict about enforcing passing signal this year. I was lax about it last year myself and even I posted some pics not passing signal. To be fair to everyone, I'm going to be better about my own submissions for one, and make sure you guys are good about yours too. If anyone posts any, generally I will PM you first so you can update your post. However, if it's not updated by the time we go to vote, I will have to remove the post and rig from the category. I'd hate to see anyone lose out on participating because of something simple. And by passing signal we just want to see it on, lit up, even if it's just the board. Hell even if your modeler is an old floorboard from 1999 with ugly monochrome alarm clock font, fire it up and let us see the pretty lights and such. Thanks guys. Not trying to be a douche. Just staying in the spirit of what this should be.

The WGS is new , never installed . I installed the other one and have this extra . These are fantastic drivers . Big Chime and tight clear bottom . Just a great guitar speaker all around .
