Any of you guys sell cars at a dealership?

Can someone help me figure out WHY I'm being charged $1742.58 for Total Taxes? Indiana is 7 percent. I don't think Doc Fees or Government Fees are taxable in Indiana. The only thing I see taxable is the price of the car and accessories.

Percentages are not my best in math LOL

They're also calculating the taxes before removing the 5k rebate. That seems like a intentional math move in their favor.

crooks!

I hate the car dealership experience. I bought through Carvana last year and it was as advertised- like ordering a pizza delivery lol. Love my car and the prices while shopping were totally transparent. If anyone goes that way make sure to get a reference-like me or any internet friend and you'll get 500 off. The referenced person gets 100.
I actually did that after the fact, so not only did I put no $ down, they mailed me a check for 500 :rawk:

I see they did that but it still doesn't calculate to $1742.58 I think they made a mistake.

$1742.58 is the state tax / .07 = $24894.00. Try to find $24894.00 on that purchase agreement anywhere? Should be $1728.65

they are charging you tax on the sale price, accessories, and doc fees - I assume that is legal, but I don't know yet.

per Edmunds that is the industry standard

A rebate is usually after taxes, nothing unusual about that.

Yes, theyre taxing the docs fee too, I'm not sure if they should have excluded it.

Ask for a $14 discount if it bothers you, I'm sure they won't mind.

This doesn't look like a bad deal to me. $26k sticker price vehicle at $21.5k out the door. :idk:

Oh Billy, Always be persistent ... Now I've got them down to $20,245.22. Wanted a pearl white one but I'll have to settle for dark grey. Both pretty cars. BTW, I'm cheap LOL
