That whole video was enjoyable. Nice buildup. cool imagery. Reminded me of The Cell.

Yeah I don’t seek him out but whenever I catch a track every year or so I’m reminded who sits at the top.

Nah nevermind, most new rap is total garbage.

I like Eminem but my favorite rap is stuff like Tribe Called Quest and anything that incorporates jazzy and/or R&B style music. Found this a while back. I have no idea what they’re saying but just sounds really nice to me.

mort you should check out Jurassic 5. they are really good. The Roots are awesome too.

There’s very little lyricism happening in mainstream rap. I struggle a bit with trap beats too though my son is into that style and I have heard some instrumental tracks that sound cool, but the style of rapping that goes with it kills me.

I like that Eminem used some of that trap beat style in this track though. It was trapesque but with ridiculous rhymes.

Yes. The influence is there in this track but, him being who he is; it works. Some of my favorite concerts in the past 10 years have been rap shows. Snoop, Ice Cube, LL, Public Enemy. Tech N9ne (ugh that spelling ). Speaking of freakishly fast rapping. Sir MixALot was killer in Chicago a few years back.

Snoop had some mumble rap openers on the tour we watched. Lil Uzi Vert or Lil Pump Pump or some sh!t They were ok for like, 3 songs-ish? That style and type of flow is not for me. My sons are all about it. Unfortunately I can only let them hear the good OG stuff.

Even if those lyrics were written on a page in front of me, I couldn't get them to flow like that.

How the f does he do that? All that speed means he needs to write more rhymes too. Literally sounds like it's been sped up in some places, but I assume he is doing this live? That's crazy.

20+ years of practice....I'm a huge fan of fast intricate rap, and it's been awesome to watch/listen to this guy just get better and better lyrically over the last 20 years.

How well does his music "hold up" compared to others from that ERA? (late 1990s early 2000's?? ) - some of it holds up well and some of it doesnt imo, i dont think its bad, but it is his his soft or blind spot to a extent , honestly some of it just hasnt aged that well, whatchya think?

It’s nice to see him back in good form. For the past few years, I’ve felt he’s been phoning it in, that he’s not hungry. I’ve never been Em’s biggest fan, but you don’t need to be a fan to recognize when someone’s lost the passion.
