I had a chance to watch it last night and it was absolutely killer. I've always known she was a great singer and as a kid in the 1970s' and 1980s', she was inescapable on the FM dial. Didn't matter if it was a pop, rock or country station. You were going to hear her songs. What I never realized was A) How truly versatile she was. And B) what a absolute powerhouse she was. Watching the part of the doc where she was singing opera was mind blowing. Then it moved on to her singing traditional Mexican songs and she was equally powerful and in control.
I know it's mostly rocker's and metalhead's here, but if you just love music in general and can appreciate pure talent, it's definitely worth watching.

I fucking love Linda Ronstadt's music, and have since I was a kid. I'll have to track this down.

It's called The Sound Of My Voice.
Sadly, she is pretty deep into Parkinson's now. So her voice is gone.

It's an offshoot of Parkinson's right? I read something on NPR (? iirc) over the weekend. I thought it was something that targeted her vocal chords. Which is devastating given her voice.

It's something that eats away at motor skills and the brain. From what I had read, it is often mistaken for Alzheimer's. Either way, she can't sing anymore.

I watched bits of it last night at work. Wasn't it on CNN?
