Had a huge battery of tests Friday. They drew a lot of blood and I peed in the cup.

Doc calls yesterday and says "We found blood in your urine" go to the lab.

14 more tubes of blood and 2 urine cups later I was outta there.



My sincere apologies for not being dead yet.

Prolly just a UTI... take some Midol.

Yeah. The second set of tests were for some cultures etc, etc...

Whatever it may be, it's no big deal cause I give not one single micro-fuck.

I mean... if you got blood in your pee surely that means there should be less tests since you're giving them two samples in one go..

Kidney stone? Hopefully. I had one and it was the most painful thing in the world but could have been worse.

Sorry about my tardiness with an update...

After all the tests were done, i was sent for a consult with a pharmacist, a nutritionist, and a nephrologist (kidney doctor). The pharmacist explained all the drugs, side effects of said drugs, and what can cause kidney issues. Nutritionist went through some dietary stuff, and what she said made it all seem pretty accessible, but even so, cooking for one is a pain in the ass and I can't eat the food fast enough before it goes bad, so we shall see if I can go down that road or whatever. Kidney doc told me that the three major causes of kidney disease are diabetes, hypertension, and medicinal toxicity. I have neither diabetes nor hypertension, so the viewpoint is that it is being caused by medicinal toxicity.

So, essentially, the chemotherapy drugs that have been used to put the leukemia into remission five times, and now a daily self administered type of chemo to keep it in check, keep my lymph glands from swelling up to the size of grapefruits, and to keep me alive, are killing my kidneys.

Kidney disease is "rated" in five stages. Stage 1 being the highest (best) kidney function, 90 percent renal function or above. Stage 2 is from 89 percent down to 60 percent renal function. Stage 3A is from 59 percent down to 45 percent. Stage 3B is from 44 percent down to 30 percent. Stage 2 is from 29 percent down to 15 percent and that's where things start to get sideways. As one gets to the mid to lower end of this stage, then there is dialysis, or some other form of blood/toxicity cleansing method (there are two or three). Stage 5 is "end stage", whatever that means. Probably kidney failure and in need of a transplant. I can tell you this, they aren't going to waste a perfectly good kidney on my ass. Same as they wouldn't do a bone marrow transplant. I'm too old and it would be ton of money and medical care wasted tying to keep my ass alive. So, that explains all that...

Turns out I am somewhere in Stage 3B.
