Had to drive myself to ER on Friday

Post by primeholy »

Dropped my wife and kids off at the airport to stay with my sister in Florida for a few days. I only have a few vacation days left, so I stayed home. A few hours later I started bleeding out a surgical wound from late May from a hernia repair. I had a drain in, but it kept getting infected and slowing down. There were chunks of blood that later I was told was clotted. They finally did surgery Monday after a few days of not eating till dinner in case they did a procedure. I’m probably going home tomorrow , but I’ll have a vacuum hooked to my belly. Life is fun.

Nah. Hernia repair is in tact. I had this hernia for a few years, and it was huge, I just dealt with it cause it didn’t hurt. After repair my body kept pushing fluid to where the hernia was.

You had a drain in since May? That seems like a long time! Saw this pic on FB for a second then it ended up disappearing in the feed. Good thing they caught the issue and fixed it for you. Ugh. Get better!

You my friend, are the meanest person I’ve ever met. I’m taking iv fluids home with me, so my wife is probably going to put in a central line before I leave the hospital today(she’s on the iv team puts in pic lines and in nurse practitioner school) I’m not getting sent home with a vac , but getting stuffed with gauze everyday instead :( . I’m thinking about buying one of these to make up for my troubles.

Gotta stay one more night. Have to go home with iv antibiotics and they have to fill me with gauze daily. Well, my wife will be filling me with gauze at home. I’d rather be filling her :( might be a little bit.

On the bright side, lambo orange guitar ordered. This should help with my Ozzy tribute band! Haven’t had a Floyd in a few years. I’m gonna love stringing it. I’ll probably never have someone else set the intonation when it needs it, cause I remember it being a pain in the dick.

A central line? Like down your damn IJ?

Fucking rest and take care of yourself you dick.

Then I'll tell you my heinous central line story from a TAVR patient after you get it out.

I think they decided to do a pic line, I don’t know what the difference is. This is a hell of a way to get some time off. They aren’t gonna let my wife put in the pic, but she’s gonna be taking care of me at home. I think I’ll be on iv antibiotics for 5 more days. Being in the hospital is the least healthiest I’ve eaten in a while. Hows things with you?
