I’m driving back from pigeon forge tomorrow.
Willing to bet my backroads will be flooded.
Farmers are clambering to get 60 day yield corn, vs the 90 day stuff. They’re planting shit by hand as well.

I hope that everyone gets out of this safely, with minimal damage to property.
That said, plant rice. It grows in monsoons. That’s what it does.

I wish. We just stopped over night halfway home from Myrtle. Still got to do the lazy river with my toddler. Had burgers. Left in the morning.

Rain is the least of worries right now. At least one tornado, possibly more, hit last night around 8:30. One went through the small town of Pendleton (about a mile from my GF's house) and blasted the place. No reported casualties, thankfully, and the biggest damage was to roofs and trees, but hundreds of trees are down. The town is closed off to all but residents as there are still broken gas mains. Crews are lined-up to start repairs at daybreak. Clean-up is going to take a while...

Am I wrong, or isn't this kinda early in the year for tornadoes? I heard they named a hurricane last week, one of the earliest on record.
Drove thru my first tornado last year in western Nebraska. We were like "wow, that's cool" when the funnel started to take shape, but when we saw the ground being ripped from the Earth we like "wtf, get us outta here!".
Stuff can be cleaned up and replaced. Hope you all stay safe.

The destruction is whack. Mojo to the Indiefolk.
However we're fat as fuck due to how much fucking corn we eat. So I don't mind Murca going on a corn diet if I'm being honest.

Actually, a little late. Mid-March is when it typically starts with April and May being the most active (depending on region). But, it can (and does) happen from March through November(ish)...

This weather in the midwest is nutty as f right now. We got blasted with an ocean's worth of water last night in like a 20 minute timeframe. Ridiculous. We were practicing and watching water creep into the double loading bay doors in the practice spot. It was crazy!

We got almost two inches in less than 45 minutes last evening. It wasn't a severe storm, thankfully, but wind, lightning and a shit-ton of rain. I had to drive up to HQ in Auburn Hills, MI for work on Wednesday and got back last night [I waved at Pepi when I went by...]. The number of fields that have yet to be planted was staggering. More than 90%...
P.S. Off topic, but the construction on I-69? I'm over it. If they wouldn't let the roads turn to absolute shit before doing something, maybe the repairs wouldn't be so disruptive
