Yep. The river is about up to the street in my hood. I hate spring.

This spring blows. Cold, wet and gray. When summer hits, it better be blazing hot, goddammit... :cop:

I was in Arizona and Utah for 10 days this month. If I was single without family, kids and grandkids I would move in a heartbeat

Trust me. I won't retire in Indiana. We may keep a house here and do the half here, half somewhere else thing because of my GF's family, but the primary residence will be somewhere that has a decent climate. Ideally somewhere near the gulf, but Arizona and the Carolinas are also a consideration. I'll never have the cash to retire directly on the waterfront, but if I could find the right home on an intercostal waterway, I could work with that...

I'm defined by my misery, and that starts from the ground up with the climate.

Good weather doesn't compute for me in the long run.

It's a treat 10 days per year that helps define reality.

I spend a week in Myrtle at my parents' in law's condo every year, and realize things I love about Indiana, and how much I truly dislike tourist traps.

"I truly dislike tourist traps" With you on this. Page AZ was a pain in the ass for a small town. Sedona OMG. I always books rooms outside of the areas we are seeing.

None of the places I might pick would be considered a "tourist trap" area. I despise that shit as well. But I can't live out my life where it's gray, cold, wet or a combination of those things 8 months out of the year. I need some sun and warmth or I'll hibernate in the house and be angry all the time...

I had a good week between winter cold/gray and so much pollen my car is yellow and I can't breathe. Today seemed a little better though.. Hopefully will get some more fun in before summer heat blazing and godawful.

Hopefully will get some more fun in before the glorious summer heat blazes down while I enjoy adult refreshments and grilled critters by the pool as God intended.

Fixed it for you...
