I never heard of him till he died. I still haven’t heard any of his music. Apparently he was big on giving back to his community. I can’t dog on a guy like that. But, man, when everyone was first making a deal of his shooting, I was like, who?

Instead of “Local Rapper Shot,” they should’ve said “Local Philanthropist Shot.”

yeah , it may be the start of a new war . Took the guy out right in front of his store in the hood . The guy could have moved away years ago but didn't . Still he was a gang member and who knows who was killed in the last war and by whom .

I'm no hip hop guy, but I knew of Nipsey being a gangster / rapper from LA. I had no idea the kind of impact he made on the scene though. Its pretty crazy how all these gangs that have been rivals, murdering each other for decades have all pulled together because of his death. I have to think LAPD might be a lil nervous right now.

Yeah, I just read he was a gangster. Hmm . . . Kinda complicates things.

Nope... But, then again, I'm a middle-aged white guy that lives in the Midwest. I'm pretty much 180° out of phase with that scene...

Filling this under "couldn't care less". How people with the gang-band mentality will ever transcend beyond that level of self-destructive stupidity is beyond me. Seems kinda hopeless.

Apparently there was another shooting near the memorial services and someone was killed.


Why all the fuss over this guy? I don't get what the relevance is, though admittedly don't care enough to google about it.
