The sale of my Vegas house closed last week but I got a rent back here for a month, while I could look for a new home in PA.

Made an offer on a house in PA on Friday and opened escrow today. It should close easily since it's a cash purchase. Moving from L.A. to Vegas and renting my house there allowed me to save up very aggressively, plus I did really well with equity in the Vegas house, since the market here is shit-hot. It literally did not even go on the market, I had a realtor knock on my door one day and tell me she was looking for a house in the area for a client and the rest is history. All this combined with the lower prices in PA allowed me to get the new property without a loan, which is awesome. So back to being mortgage free again.

Anyway, my move out date is November, 29th. We decided to do a cross country drive so I should be there on December 8th or 9th, we will be taking our time and enjoying the road trip

I enjoyed some things about Vegas, but honestly I am happy to leave. And I will actually have a proper white Christmas this year for the first time in 20 years.

Damn bro, nice work - this is how you real estate! Bill, enjoy that road trip, hopefully the weather cooperates with your plans!

We already looked at the weather reports and aside from the possibility of them being completely wrong, which happens very fucking often, the trip should be fine.

We'll be in Lackawanna county (Scranton/WB metro). It's 2 hours away from NYC and a GABfest IS definitely happening!!!
We'll be in NYC a lot, playing gigs etc

I'm thinking NYC. But open to suggestions. We'll see.
We're getting rid of most of our furniture and will buy it new there. We're pretty much just carrying personal belongings like clothes, our gear and a few other items. So we're renting a small U-Haul trailer and towing it.

Yeah for sure. The new sure is a pretty decent size (2100sqft) with a fully finished basement so that will be the new studio

and well NYC is an easy jump for me once the timing is right that sounds awesome... actually could kill a couple birds in that one trip....

Yeah my wife is from Rockville, MD and my mom is in North Jersey so this is a perfect location to be relatively close to both families but still within a safe distance so our in-laws are not popping in unannounced

I have one uncle in Scranton but he's chill af so it's all good.
