Colored Oil Finish?

Good evening,
I'm finally going to do what I swore I would do back in my freshman year of college: build a bass. I have a fully functional Kahler 2410 trem (the original plate was severely warped, and I picked up a NOS one for some money), and some tuners. I'm still in planning mode, but a truss rod, a set of Jazz pickups, and some wood could expedite the process.
All of this leads me to my current problem:
I've refinished before, but never colored. I like Danish oil, but I also like the idea of the color blue. Danish oil isn't blue.
Could it be? There are pigments available, but do they work with the aforementioned Danish oil?
