Ive been looking back at Yes & what kinda great prog-rock stuff they were nailing even back in the early 70s.
Anyhow, I was poking around & found this cover. That Gilbert is a fuckin animal on the guitar....

That was awesome.
I'm not a big Yes fan, but Gilbert is insanely great.

I adore Yes, and this was brilliant. Gilbert is something else.

Not a big Yes fan but, Paul Gilbert is always amazing.

Probably heresy, but this is my favorite Yes album.

Yeah man.. I spent time with a friend over a summer vacation, who had Yes Yessongs, Rush Hemispheres & Sabbath Paranoid......
That broke my cherry to fucking prog I guess... I never saw it that way, I just figured it was some deep & complex rock. You know, at that point I was into some Aerosmith, Zep, Nugent, and some other more poppy shit..

Anyhow, I never got heavy into Yes, beyond that album. They were always so WIDE that really delving deep into them wasnt natural to me.. Still, I greatly appreciated them. & lately giving them a listen again.
Squire was the heavy part of the band but also melodic, Howe, was lighter melodic complexity. And then somehow Wakeman was melodic & complex... Always a BIG part of the music, but never overbearing. White just kinda fit all in without jumping out at ya.

Anyhow, Ive been really digging THIS track too..
Siberian Khatru.
1972 ??? Who the hell was doing anything like this yet?
