Most of you know that I have a frackining long commute to/from work.
I keep a stack of CDs in the car and I listen to college, commercial and public radio.

Every once in a while, the Jazz station plays something cool enough to buy.
Never heard of Horace Silver before but, I just bought a 12 album, box set on 6 CDs for $15 :thu:

This is the song that provided the inspiration...

Excellent. He was definitely one of the greats. Horace Silver and the Jazz Messengers and Blowin the Blues Away were always my favorites of his.

Can't believe I missed Horace but, really glad I stumbled upon him.
His songs are jumping, not repetitive and they don't have any of those cheesy scale runs that you hear in a lot of jazz tunes.
Looking forward to this one!

Great pick, Brian! Song for My Father is one of my favorite jazz tunes ever.
