Anyone using any of their stuff for home recording? A lot of the clips sound absolutely killer but there are just a few too many choices and the prices are on both ends of the spectrum. Torpedo Studio is for sure out of my price range so that leaves Live, Reload and I guess C.A.B. and Captor. Cheapest and best sound into a DAW is the goal but I get distracted by all of the options of attenuation/load, IR's, etc. I have a 2x12 and 4x12 but if this stuff sounds just as good I could see ditching it for home use. Any users of Two Notes out there want to chime in and get me going in the right direction?

Some folks here are having great results with the Captor's. Jerevil has a Torpedo Studio. I have a Torpedo Live. Ultimately, it comes down to your price point and needs. I really love the ease of recording and being able to switch cabinet sims on the fly. Pan tracks left and right. Then just turn the knob on the Torpedo for a different speaker or change it in Torpedo Remote and tweak the mic choice and position. BOOM, multi tracked.

I will say that I find a lot of the Sims to be way over EQ'd. So don't judge any one of them until you spend some time tweaking it. That excessive mid honk or too massive low end on a given Sim can be worked right out.

Ultimately it's made making music and recording it infinitely easier. Along with creating a stupid fast work flow. Also, while nothing will ever replace a good cab and speakers, having a raging Marshall in my headphones anytime of the day is so convenient.

I have a captor and even though I'm still nowhere near learning how to get the best out of it, it still kicks all kinds of ass. For £200 it was a stone cold bargain.

Yeah I have the Studio and it is the best piece of gear I have ever bought. The Live is great and the Captor seems really promising for recording and using Wall Of Sound in your DAW.

I love the Live. I may get another Live or a Studio, not sure.
I quad track a lot only having 1 mic/cab works well since I can mix it up on other tracks if needed.

For home recording on a budget I would go with the Torpedo Captor and World of Sound (WOS) in your DAW. The Captor has the same reactive load as the Live and Studio with a slightly tweaked eq curve.

I would get a Captor or a Suhr reactive load, you can't go wrong with either.

I've had a Suhr RL for about a year and a half and am quite happy with it. I still plan to grab a 16 ohm Captor at some point and compare it to the Suhr.

Lots of captor love here and other places. I hate intentionally ordering and returning gear but probably the best bet is to order both a live and captor and mess around with both until the 11th hour on the 44th day. Sweetwater is running the 36mo for Two Notes until Dec 31st.

I have the Captor and it's my favorite gear purchase lately. Very easy to get great recorded tones. Wall of Sound is awesome.
