Tokyo Dawn Limiter

I've been using the Tokyo Dawn eq and compressor (freebies) and really like them. Before I take the plunge and buy their limiter, has anyone tried it?

I haven't really been A B'in it but I been liking my guitar tones more lately since using it. It also has a three way slider in the back for more adjustments to compression/limits.

Got my Rubix 24 the other day. Seems like a great piece of shit!![]()
It was a bit frustrating at first as at least one of the links in the manual was spelled wrong and even after correcting it, it was page not found. Also had to restart my computer twice. Not a big deal, but it would've been nice to know that beforehand. Before the second restart it would not recognize my plugins so I just got a clean signal.
Anyway, are you using the limiter or compressor? I've been running the compressor about noon. It may have been beneficial to have the option of running both the comp and limit at the same time.

Sorry dude didn't see this post til just now. Grats on your new piece of shit!
I was using comp1 also at noon for awhile and only recently started trying the limiter...To me using comp1 made my guitar sound more aggressive and the limiter smoothed things out... not sure what I like more yet. Also if your using windows in the control panel/sound make sure your recording and playback is set higher than 44Hz. I use 24 bit 192000 Hz. Also in the Rubix control panel set you buffer as low as you can without your computer fucking up lol... I have mine on 2 so in Reaper it shows my latency at 5.3/5.2ms vs the default of 5 which gave me 22/30ms latency. I was able to set my buffer to 1 but my drums would crackle sometimes but the latency was 2.7 which was nice.

I'm not sure with Abbleton. In Reaper it shows you in the top right corner what your quality and latency is set at... and the only way I could change that setting was thru the Windows sound setting and it would show the new setting if I started a new session.

Gotcha. I'll see what happens when I try to record this weekend.

Hows the Roland working for you? I just found a bug or something when loading guitar sim VST's. The moment I engage them I get this crazy high pitch squeal/hum... irritating the shit out of me...So far Roland support has been slow af...
FAKA! wrote:I just figured out it's not the VST's causing my issues, they just make it stand out more. If you get a chance try this with your Rubix and tell me if you get that crazy high pitch ring... load up a new track in your daw, point it to input one on the Rubix but don't plug anything into it, then crank the input one volume all the way up and turn up your headphone volume maybe halfway... make sure your not wearing your headphones lol.. Does yours make make a high pitched ringing? Clicking the HiZ button should also make it more pronounced.
I'm curious if other Rubix react the same way or is my shit defective...
