im not here to discuss the humor style, take it or leave it.

but seriously, and i am not exaggerating, what the hell happened with the content/commercial ratio? ive literally never seen a show that does this....skit, commercials, screen showing that youre watching snl, commercials, skit, commercials, screen showing musical guest, musical guest, commercial, screen showing youre still watching snl, commercials, skit, commercials, skit, commercials, musical guest, commercials, skit, commercials, screen, commericals, outro.

what the actual fuck.

I lost touch with SNL. Guess Im getting old. I just dont find it to be funny anymore.

70's -90's SNL, FTW. The new ones are lame.

I miss Mad TV too. Mo Collins. Butthole. Would.

I've seen every episode- twice.

It's no River Monsters with biologist and extreme angler Jeremy Wade, but still better than 99% of what else is on TV.

Especially NBC. NBC has turned into The Lifetime channel. Seems all their shows are soap operas now. Between that, and getting carried away with pushing social & political agendas, I find myself watching other channels. I'll be glad to get cable again.

Well Comcast owns NBC now, so it's only going to get worse for them.

You must not watch Sunday Night Football on NBC

Faith Hill sings for about six hours at the beginning of the show
Commercials
Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth say that it will be a great matchup, whether it is San Francisco versus Green Bay or the Bills versus the Browns.
Commercials
They come back and show the players lining up for kickoff and possibly a shot of Ray Lewis disco dancing while eating grass
Commercials
They kick off and someone returns it. They get a shot of the QB walking out on the field.
Commercials
The team starts moving the ball down the field and a running back splatters his ACL all over the field.
Commercials
On the next play after the RB unofficially retired from the game, the QB throws a pick six.
Commercials
They come back and kick the extra point.
Commercials
They come back and kick off the ball to the other team.
Commercials

Shit, with sports you get commercials DURING play. Signs all over the stadium, stadium name is sponsored, stats are sponsored, overlay shows you an ad for an upcoming show, announcers randomly drop plugs for sponsors...

SNL has been that commercial heavy as far back as I can remember (mid to late 80s.) Rule of thumb is that a 30 min time slot is going to be 22 mins of actual show. So expect to see 16 mins of commericals for each hour of a show. SNL being slotted for an hour and a half means you need to expect 24 mins of commercials each episode.
