So some of you guys might've seen me post a photo of a mustang on FB a couple of weeks ago. I've been trying to rationalize upgrading from my 97 Cobra to this really hot, really modded 05 GT. I can afford to do it, but...the wife and I want a new house, and our 10 year anniversary is coming up next year, and I know she is wanting a new ring, which will be $$$$$, and I can't risk the chance of potentially telling her I can't afford the ring she wants because I dropped 6 grand on upgrading my 2nd car instead.

So today I made the decision to be an adult. I know it's the right thing, but I might have cried a little anyway. CSB, first world problems, etc.

That's how it goes.

I wholeheartedly agree being a responsible adult sucks.

honestly maybe its me but the perks of being "old" are outweighing the negatives. sure going to work daily and paying bills is a drag but damn it feels good getting paid, having my own stuff and seeing hard work pay off.

if you didnt get your car now it just wasnt meant to be right now and will happen down the road but keeping your wife happy and getting a new house are also kickass accomplishments to be proud of.

Yeah, gotta keep the wife happy or she's just gonna end up with half that car anyway.

Your overwhelming optimism in recent weeks as well as your recent forays into gear whoring/hoarding are giving me hemorrhoids.

I go in the Salvation Army thrift store a couple times a week (dont laugh. Sometimes you can find real cool shit in there for nearly nothing. People with money donate nice shit sometimes.) . Stopped in @ lunch today to see what kinda goodies they might have.

A couple with 4 kids comes in there. The mother looked like a stripper..about 25..inked up..hair dyed green. The "father" (about 30) had on the obligatory flat billed baseball cap..turned sideways..covered up in ink (that looked like it was kinda pricey when he got it)..$150 Nike shoes ....

They were in there signing up for aid / social services .

When they left, they got in a later model chevy tahoe. Busted up front end..and 26" "rims".

A not-particularly-common guitar I've been looking for, for about 10 years now, has finally come up for sale. And while I have the money, I'm also fairly likely to not have a job soon, so probably shouldn't be blowing $2k on yet another guitar.



But I probably will anyway.

Well, I imagine it would share duties with my current #1, or even perhaps take over as #1. The current #1 is a very similar model, also similarly rare (or perhaps even moreso). Taking a look at the condition of that guitar... no... no, I wouldn't say it'd be a good investment. At all.

That was the worst part. Big financial stuff like that, we talk about before doing.
She told me I could buy it if I wanted.
Even though there was no inflection in her voice that said she meant otherwise, I just KNEW there would be repercussions if I went through with it. Not because she's hateful or vindictive, but because she'd KNOW I couldn't say no to ANYTHING she'd ask for.
