I was in high school when this came out. Got it and Reign in Blood the same day. Wore both those cassettes out.


When I started playing, March of the SOD was one of my first riffs learned. I played it and just thought, I have the POWER!

Love that album. At the time it came out, it was the heaviest thing going without a doubt. The guitar, bass, and drums all sounded so fucking good.

One of my bands used to open our set with March of the S.O.D. We'd launch straight from that into one of our own tunes. Most people just thought it was a weird 3/4 metal intro, a few people screamed "fuck yeah, S.O.D.!!!"

This and MOD for the USA got mad daytime when I was in high school.

I can't see DB post, but S.O.D is one of my all time favorite thrash bands. March of the SOD live, is unreal. The ultimate headbang circle pit song.

Same here. The first couple of songs I learned as a kid were Lick It Up, Heavens on Fire, and Zep's Heartbreaker. Then I went after a song off Peace Sells (can't remember which one) and March of the SOD. I remember thinking, "fuck that dancing fairy shit, imma gonna knock down buildings with these riffs!"

Hah so true. I think I had the SOD album before RIB, but both were on regular rotation. Whenever I get the old record player going, Speak English or Die is ALWAYS the first record that goes on.

I was big into hardcore in high school, and I'd be walking around listening to SOD on my walkman, wearing my Docs, thinking I was the shit.

Fuck yeah!
