Got a great deal on some Emg P85/P81. Was going to put them in my Gibson only to find out that the mounting screws are located at different locations! Just slightly off. Can't use the factory mounting plate. Damn you!

So non vintage Gibbys are like 74.6125 and EMGs are 79.37. Really?! REALLY?! I can find Gibson mounting brackets http://www.stewmac.com/Hardware_and_Parts/All_Hardware_and_Parts_by_Instrument/Electric_Guitar_Parts/Electric_Guitar_Covers_and_Plates/Deluxe_Mini_Humbucker_Mounting_Bracket.html But can't seem to find anything EMG sized.


I just wanna play my Goldtop! Anyone have any suggestions?? (Other than not to use Emg's. I can hear it already )

EMGs give LPs aids, brutha. Dint ya read the GAB rulebook?

You have a great point, maybe a pic will help.

You may be able to see that with one screw lined up, the other side is way off.

If it were me, I'd drill and tap that plate (assuming all else fits ok) for the screw mounting you'd need. If you're not set up to do that, maybe you could find a local machinist or something to help you out - possibly you could mark what you need and send it to one of us that could do it for you. I'd be willing to give it a go, if all else fails
