Word. A friend of a friend is racing the Lucas Oil offroad series this summer. That should be interesting to watch.
We don't have much late-model oval dirt racing up here

I love me some jalopy racing haha.
Then again I'm more of a motocross guy but w/e

Yeah. I was raised at a dirt track, and come from a family of drivers & car builders, so it's in my blood.
I always try to make the Lucas Oil Series LM races. We usually have good turn outs for the Lucas races. Alot of the better "big time" drivers always show up. 30 late models showing up for a 50 lap race on a 3/8 mile track is always a plus.
I Like Late Models, Crate Late Models (LM's, but they all have crate motors that you cant work on the internals to cheat), modifieds, & street cars. I wish we still had Pro Stocks (basically street car bodys on all tube chassis, late model tires & hotter engines).
Hopefully some day I can go back to the World 100 @ Eldora Speedway. Even if someone doesnt like racing, its just a big ass party. Good times.
New drag strip opening up this month too. Cant wait to check it out. I have several friends who'll be running there.

Local dirt tracks are the best. I'll take them over NASCAR any day! Here in the Jersey area, Modifieds are popular. Sprint cars always have a big fan base too.
I think the season starts this weekend at the New Egypt Speedway. Awesome place!

Apparently the service manager at my store is a racer. He's got a taurus stock car and a big volvo carhauler. I have no idea if he's any good or not, but he's certainly equipped.

Yeah. NASCAR bores me to tears (I do like the NASCAR Open Wheel Modifieds though). Too long & drawn out. The cars all look the same. (and they dont look like race cars lol)
I'd like to see the Modifieds like you guys have, run down here. (the big block modifieds like these)

Ive watched them on TV. Would LOVEto see em on our high banked 3/8's oval.
We run U.M.P. sanctioned modifieds like these (small block engines & stock frame stubs, usually from 70's/ 80's GM full framed cars)

Dude who bought one of my old Chevelle parts cars bought it for the frame to build a modified with .
