I've been watching video after video and reading article after article on recording methods from basic to advanced. I think i'm going to go to an audio recording class here soon, just have to find one that works with my schedule.

Until then i signed up for 30 Day Vocals since that's what my focus is on at the moment. The videos and articles are great but it's so much information to remember unless you're applying it as you go and practicing it. That's what turned me on to this course. It's all interactive. You can't skip around. You must complete exercises before moving on. You have access to the creators of the class at any time for any questions you have. You send them your mixes and they critique them and make suggestions.

Looking forward to trying this out. Seems pretty good so far for 3 payments of $49 for the entire class. Plus you get some cool bonuses like a book called Mixing Heavy Music.

If anyone is interested in checking it out, it's here:

Also on another note, i've come to realize how important automation is in mixing especially on vocals.

However, it can be a damn tedious process.

I found a plug-in called Waves Vocal Rider. I've tried it out and it's pretty damn awesome. It's not perfect but it gets about 80% of the job done and then you only have 20% left to automate yourself. It even rides the instrumental so not just at a single level. Very cool plug-in.

I haven't tracked vocals in ages, but I sure could've used this at the time. Very cool.
